I’ve been reminiscing a lot lately, about all of the types of arts and crafts I have done in the past. I recently started a new job as an activities assistant, and I have been using my creative energy way more lately than I have in years… This has led to me wanting to do even more creative things!!
I really want to start making stuff again, but I am completely overwhelmed by where to begin… I made some Rainbow Loom turtles the other day. That was fun! I just want to do MORE! I want to start making things that I can sell…
New Job
So yeah, I don’t know if I posted about my previous job, but I had been working as a Special Ed Associate up until earlier of this year. In March, I made the switch from working with juveniles to geriatrics. I LOVE MY JOB!! My residents are amazing, my coworkers are wonderful, and I look forward to getting up in the morning and going in! So much so, that I chose to take a day off recently, and had so much anxiety around doing so.
One thing I especially love about my job, is I started a monthly craft club for the residents! In May, we made stained glass frames. I made mine of a turtle, but I don’t quite remember where I put it… In June, we are making Pinwheels and Wind Chimes!

I mostly used found objects for my crafts, so coming up with ideas is always fun!! I also have to consider the various limitations of my residents, which is why I try to offer a variety of styles! If anyone has ideas, I’m all ears!
Other Life Things
As I’ve mentioned before, I am single parent. Well, my kid made it through elementary school!! I know that’s not a big deal for most kids, but for him it’s major! I’m so proud of him, it’s not even funny!! Now onto middle school!
In other news, I created a Redbubble account! You can find my shop here! I’m simply EclecticTurtle over there, like most places. I am still keeping my Threadless shop as well, but I am hoping to offer a few various items/designs on each, try to reach new customers.
I thought I would have more to share, but I guess that’s it for now… I do plan on updating this a little more frequently now. Who knows where it will take me!
